Brown Patch in St. Augustine is caused by a fungus which produces an ugly yellow area that begins in the fall and lasts until spring. Once you have the fungus, chances are you will have yearly problems. The program consists of 3 separate treatments scheduled approximately 3-4 weeks apart which begin in late September.
As part of our full service program, we will spot treat for Brown Patch if a yard is showing signs of the fungus. However, spot treating does not fend off the onset of the fungus in the fall when temperatures begin to drop at night.
Brown Patch causes the grass to have large unattractive brown circles which will not recover until the next spring when the grass is again growing rapidly. The damage will show up as "scarring" areas on the lawn until the grass in the damaged areas has a chance to catch up to the rest of your lawn.
This 3-treatment program protects your entire St. Augustinegrass lawn by helping to stave off the effects of this damaging fungus.
