How much should I water my lawn in the winter?

During the hot weather, the rule of thumb is 3 times per week either through rainfall or sprinklers when temperatures reach above 90°. Temperatures consistently in the 80's will require twice per week.

November through February, there is no need to water. The lawns are in dormancy and do not need the same amount of water as lawns require in the hotter temperatures. Rainfall should be enough for the root systems to thrive until spring. Too much water in the cooler weather can cause fungus to activate!

Shrub beds will need to be watered on an as-needed basis.
